Slay at Home: No Content? No Problem

It’s been two months into quarantine and now you’ve run out of content to post. As a blogger or influencer that's the last thing you want, however with a global pandemic going on, I think your audience understands. After all, we are all in this together. No content? No problem! I want to share ways in which I create content and space it out to where I can use it weeks down the line. This probably isn’t a secret if you are already in the blogger/ influencer space but for those who are new to it or for anyone wanting these useful tips, keep reading.

Batch content.

When you do decide to create content, consider visiting multiple locations, preferably nearby and maybe a wardrobe change in between location swaps to really stretch your content. Various poses and angles are clutch in mixing up your look for a variety of content images. Take it a step further and add a pop of lip color in between as well. Boom, you got weeks worth of content.

Invest in a Tripod.

Collaborating with photographers is pretty ideal because it’s so dope to have two creatives come together to create art. It also gives both parties an opportunity to expand their social connections through this medium. Even having family to assist when available is also a great perk to have. If you have neither of those options (the former being nearly impossible due to miss Rona), getting a tripod with a wireless remote is so essential during these times. If you have an Apple Watch, you can use the camera app on there as a remote to an iPhone. Be the muse and the photographer! I’ve done this a lot over the years and churned out some great content that way.

Use backdrops in your neighborhood or park to get inspiration.

I’ll usually scout locations out on my walks through the neighborhood, photograph them and go back to shoot when I’ve got my idea planned out. Greenery, flower patches, buildings & brick walks are all great backdrops. The possibilities are truly endless. Incorporate everything I mentioned in the batching content section and viola! Content for days Kings and Queens.

Try make-up, hair how-to’s & outfit hauls.

Since a lot of us have more free time, or are at home most often these days, now is the time to experiment with make-up and hair. Take us on that journey if you want to share. We want to see it sis! Get your outfits together for the quarantine release date. I sure know I am. I am not typically the fashion blogger so I want to explore this avenue a little more. Learning a new skill or practicing an old one is perfect content gold.

Post throwback photos.

Like me, I’m sure you have load of backed up travel pictures and other things so post them! Technically your batched content will be throwback photos, but if you haven’t yet batched new content in a while, dig into the archives.

Please keep in mind, this advice may depend on your brand so if this doesn’t apply, you know what to do (let it fly).

The above content creation pictures feature clear lip-gloss. I’ve always been fond of the wet lid look and I wanted to create it myself. I wanted a clean yet bold statement on the lid and an overly dramatic lip. Next on the wet lid menu is a bold color wet lid look and a smokey-eye wet lid look. Ladies and gents, invest in a clear lip-gloss. It will change your life in more ways than one.
