5 Ways to Wear A Braided Ponytail

Featuring the Lara Croft braid.

Featuring the Lara Croft braid.

You all may have seen me rock the braided ponytail here and there and it’s the easiest hairstyle to rock so I thought I’d show you all 5 different ways I choose to rock it and show how this style is not a one trick pony (see what I did there)? We got options baby!

 1) High braided pony.

2) High braided bun.

3) Low braided pony with a side part or a middle part.

4) Low braided bun.

5) “Lara Croft” braided pony.

When I am wearing the high braided pony, I’ll usually wear the braid to the right or left side of my head. I’m not sure if any of you have a “good side” but that also may dictate how your braid sits. I like to accessorize the lower braided styles with bobby pins and clips but it’s totally up to you. The style featured in this photoshoot I did with Jordan is what I like to call the Lara Croft braid for obvious reasons. She wears this braid directly in the back of her head, not the nape nor the top. It’s very sleek and really gives your face its moment. The other styles can be found demonstrated in my youtube tutorial, 5 Ways to Wear a Braided Ponytail.

The truth about this tutorial is that I attempted to film a tutorial several weeks ago and it came out terrible. Everything was wrong about it. I was tryng to do a smokey eye look and I fudged on the liner. Not only that but I bought the wrong hair. I was so frustrated and discouraged from re-filming that I decided that I wouldn’t film it again until I absolutely felt like it. So that’s partially why it’s taken so long to share this blog post and tutorial video. Has anyone else been upset with themselves for an unusually long period of time? No, just me? Welp!
